Fund Raising
It was not really possible to attract grant aid
until the Association took ownership of the hall. As the legal
wheels turned, various local fund raising took place including
regular quizzes, a street party, coffee mornings,
music
nights, a
dance, prize draws, bridge competitions etc.
A regular
second hand bookshop
on Saturday mornings was opened in the hall itself. Over its life it raised around £2000.
These local fund raising activities will continue while the task of
seeking larger grants will be stepped up. The local SWRI have worked
particularly hard supporting the hall project.
