While most Ayton pupils move on to Eyemouth High School for their
secondary education after completing their P7 year, a small number
of pupils do choose to transfer to the BHS (as it is known locally)
in Duns, which serves Chirnside, Duns and Coldstream and surrounding
villages.
As is the case with the new Eyemouth High School building,
Berwickshire High is also soon to relocate to a newbuild school with capacity of
800. This too is expected to enter service in 2009. An
