We will soon add the names of all those who laid down their lives in the great conflicts of the 20th century. 

As those who fought during these wars pass on, it becomes all the more important that we work hard to remind people of the sacrifice made, so that never again will Ayton or villages like it need to see the flower of its youth slain on some foreign field.

  • 1914-18: 42 men from Ayton Parish lost their lives in defence of their country during The Great War, also known as the First World War.

  • 1939-45: 15 men from Ayton Parish lost their lives in defence of their country and to fee the World from the threat of Fascism, during the Second World War
